Coaches United for Success in America – The Homestretch!

by Pamela on June 16, 2009

Well, I’ve been working on this pro bono coaching program since December and a successful end is in sight. Coaches United for Success in America is almost fully populated. So far, I have connected almost 150 very deserving unemployed professionals with a coach.

It hasn’t been an easy road, but it’s been very rewarding. I’ve gotten some great feedback from both coaches and clients. One client told her coach that this has been a life changing experience. On the flip side, some people signed up and seemed very eager, and then never returned their coaches emails and calls.

When that happens, it really bothers me and then I have to tell myself that perhaps they weren’t ready for the coaching relationship after all. I have to give a lot of credit to the coaches, because most of them came back to me and asked for another client.

I am concerned that there is something wrong with the survey, because I got emails from a few people mentioning that they signed up and hadn’t heard back from me and I have no record of their assessment! I have one woman who signed up 3 times, and it still hasn’t come through. This is troubling to me because I don’t want anyone to feel ignored – there is enough of that during a job search and my goal is to answer everyone, even if they aren’t a candidate for the program.

I’ve tested the survey several times, and it works for me, so I’m not sure how to diagnose the problem. I used Survey Monkey and it’s very easy to use, so I can’t imagine what the problem is. I just hope that there aren’t a lot of disappointed people out there who signed up and never heard back.
